About Omiyage
Omiyage (pronounced OH-ME-AW-GAY) is Japanese for souvenir. But, in Japan, omiyage is so much more than just a souvenir, its a way of life, a way to share a taste of the culture you have visited with loved ones. In Japan, no matter how close or far you stray from home, you bring a little something back to share with family, friends and coworkers.
Originally started to share a taste of Japan with you, Omiyage is evolving to carry cute, clever and crafty goods from here, there and everywhere. Whether you’re looking for cute stationery, pretty packaging supplies or a great pair of chopsticks, Omiyage is your Canadian source for unique paper products and gifts.
About Us
Omiyage was founded in the summer of 2010 by Marisa Edghill and Elias de Souza. Having moved from Japan to Canada in 2007 (after a combined 12 years in the land of the rising sun), they found themselves missing the experience of shopping in Japan an awful lot. Go shopping in Japan and you’ll find stores filled with a wide assortment of cute and clever goods – everything, from tape to the kitchen sponge, is not only functional but special too!
Omiyage is carefully curated and full of charming goods that we would love to give or receive. The sort of things we used to find in Japan, cram into our suitcases and bring home as souvenirs. We love everything that Omiyage stocks, and hope you do too!
Omiyage, itself, is run out of a smoke-free, pet-free environment in the Toronto, Ontario.
